ZenShed is HouzeKit's original and flagship product - 'the little building that could'. It was designed and touted as a get-away space (a meditation building) but its design has also proved to be an affordable living solution for communities supporting their homeless populations (intentional or otherwise - see FAQ's). A popular feature is that ZenSheds meet standards for towing and building - PERMIT FREE - in most locations.

How to Build Your ZenShed
'The Little Building that Could' is designed as an affordable living solution that encourages DIY enthusiasts. With user-friendly, detailed DIY assembly instructions included with your purchase, you'll find the 96 square foot option manageable even for those without major building experience. The 144 square foot version is also suitable for beginners but requires some building experience and additional human power for the roof and floor assembly. To successfully build your ZenShed, you will need: an appropriate foundation in place, two to three people to help assemble the building (a fourth person is beneficial for placing the roof panels), and approximately two 10-hour days (20 hours) to complete the project. If you prefer to hire someone to construct your ZenShed, please contact us first. We can coordinate delivery with a skilled tradesperson who can utilize our insulated framing kits; however, please note there will be an extra fee for their services, which may vary based on location.
